Heidi finished her first Masters degree in Kinesiology in her early twenties and has taught all age groups from elementary school through university. When her third child finished high school and headed off to college, Heidi began her degree in Biblical Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary. This degree along with her significant experience mentoring adolescents, young adults and peers has prepared her and given her insight to walk through the process of healing with individuals of varied backgrounds, age ranges and life experiences.

After years of internal nudging and external encouragement, Heidi sought the tools and educational training to pursue the work of professional counseling. Life experience has led her to believe in the power of “story” which fits well with the narrative approach to therapy. Each person’s unique story no matter how difficult has value and meaning.

Heidi seeks to build self compassion and self awareness through the use of a variety of techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, existential therapy, and family systems therapy. After working in relational ministry with youth for 35 years she is passionate about the restoration of marriage and family relationships. She has served with Marriage Core, is familiar with the ministry of re|engage, has taught parenting courses and enjoys counseling engaged and newly married couples.
