INSURANCE QUESTIONS

Does CS Christian Counseling accept insurance?
CSCC does not process insurance claims, though we are considered an out-of-network provider by all insurance companies.  We are a "private pay" practice, and we use a “virtual” sliding scale with excellent counselors providing a consistent standard of care at different fee levels (as low as $55 based on experience level) to accommodate most economic sensitivities.  With this in mind, once you register on the secure portal with the counselor of your choice, you are able to schedule a session in any available time slot on that counselor’s calendar.

What does being an Out-of-Network Provider mean?
Though all clients are required to provide payment on the day of service, we do have clients using BCBS, Cigna, and other insurance coverage who are reimbursed by personally submitting to their insurance companies the electronic superbill we provide (that includes a signature and a qualifying mental health diagnosis).  It would be your responsibility to contact your insurance company to determine the coverage your policy provides and the procedures you would need to follow to secure reimbursement.

Why doesn’t CS Christian Counseling process insurance claims?
CSCC has a few reasons we do not process insurance claims. First and foremost, we want to place more of our attention on client care. The staff hours required to continuously negotiate insurance rates and contracts with the different carriers necessarily takes time away from focused care on client issues and goals. The second major reason is that we understand counseling primarily to be a wellness-focused profession. While each of our counselors has deep training and expertise in both diagnosis and treatment of psychopathology (for which insurance coverage is primarily designed), we focus our efforts on the growth and empowerment that clients can realize for themselves in the counseling process.

COMMUNICATION QUESTIONS

How do I speak with a live person?
CSCC has ALWAYS placed a primary value on in-person live interactions. (We kept our office open and met with clients - with appropriate safety precautions - in our office ever since COVID
